27 December 2005:

I cut out the development of the roof from styrene sheet.

I shaped the development to a rough. I cut the rear part off and glued it under the main roof to depict the small transverse hump.

03 January 2006:
I made a copy mold from the tire of Tamiya's Alpine Renault kit, the size was the same as required and the tread pattern was suitable for a rally car.

The first resin copy of the tires. Small gaps present will be filled later.

09 January 2006:
I tailored the full upper front and cut out the central pressing on the hood.

Then, by positioning the central piece a bit offset down, I glued the parts again to form the pressing on the hood.

11 January 2006:
I found that the engine and transmission of the Renault-5 Alpine, from the ESCI kit, was almost identical to the R-12's, except for the cylinder head. So I made a resin copy of the engine and transmission, to cut off the cylinder head and replace with a scratchbuilt one.

15 January 2006:
I sculpted the cylinder head to normal and scratchbuilt a valve cover from styrene sheets.

22 January 2006:
I resin-copied the seat from Italeri's Fiat 131 kit. The dent at the front will be filled with putty.

29 January 2006:
I tailored the firewall. Though looks simple, it took me a full day to figure out the developments and manufacturing of the parts. The firewall here is not fixed yet and is in raw state.

30 January 2006:
For some number of days, I had been working on a "plastic buck" to compile the separate body panels together properly; determining the sections lengthwise.
Today I finished the buck.

31 January 2006:
I glued the firewall to the floor panel. The chassis arms are still temporarily in place.

10 March 2006:
After a long pause, I began glueing the body panels on the buck.

13 March 2006:
I had to find a way to depict the cowl grille before I glued the hood part on the buck.
I rolled the body of a small screwdriver over some putty and embedded the ribs. Then I poured resin and got this raw workpiece.

14 March 2006:
I cut out the necessary size and bent to body curvature by heating the resin.

Then I cut out the recess in the plastic and embedded the resin part by CA glue.

15 March 2006:
Now I glued the hood on the buck as well.

18 March 2006:
I finished the covering of the panels. I did not use the roof that I previously made, because it had fitting problems at the front of the roof. So I applied planking to this area.
