I applied polyester
putty to the edges, after trimming the excess styrene at the sides. |
|
Sanding gave
a better shape to the rear bench. |

I painted and
BMF ed the internal elements. |
|
February 18, 2005
I applied BMF
at the exterior before clear coating. |
|
I prepared the
emblem (the foil copy of the one on the hood that I had made before
sanding)
by pouring epoxy glue at the back and thereby reinforcing the foil.
Then
I cut to shape and painted, and applied on the boot by Humbrol Clear
Fix.
Though a front emblem, it looks good at the back too! |

I drilled the
steering wheel spokes before painting chrome silver. |
|
The kingpins
were poseable but had the tie rod cast fixed on the engine traverse. So
I decided to make them move. First I drilled a hole through the
kingpins
to hold the steering arms. |
|
I drilled
holes in the ball joints too. |
|
I bent the tip
of a pin and passed it through the ball joint hole. |
|
I passed the
free end of the pin through the kingpin and located the kingpin between
the wishbones. |
|
I checked the
kingpin axes (right and left) to be parallel and made small adjustments
with the steel pins. Then I applied CA glue and cut the free end of the
pins and left for settling. |
