May 2001:
Now to stretch
the body... I decided to make additions from resin and I had to make a
mold for the body profile. I chose foil copying. Aluminum foil 0.2 mm
thick
was pressed over the body as shown.

To have the
foil keep its form, it had to be supported. A piece of wooden slab with
a marble cement did the job. It was hard in 4 minutes. |

This is the
body contour mold. |

Resin was applied
with the addition of a piece of cloth for reinforcement. Resin is
impregnated
in the cloth. |

And here is
the part to be used (on the left) for extension. |

Now cutting
the body... I cut the front part in the doors and the roof at the rear.
The reason was to save the front door lines and handle. For the roof,
Pt's
roof parts fitted fine at the very top of the roof, so it was cut there. |

The door extensions
were secured in place by tapes and fixed to the body on the inside with
superglue impregnated cloth pieces. |

The roof was
also treated in the same manner as the doors, but the whole roof was
covered
with superglue embedded cloth on the inside. The cured roof was very
rigid
and safe from breaking apart while sanding in the future. |

The center console was shortened
to the limits of the passenger compartment.

May 2001:
Now the stretching
of the door panels. The most suitable contour was found to be and cut
as
shown. A styrene filler sheet was tailored to fill the gap and
reinforced
with cloth+superglue composition. Then the higher parts of the door
panel
were cut and glued in place as in the last pic. Later they were sanded
to proper contours. The rear part of the B-post was cut away.
