November 2001:
I assembled the rolling
chassis. I extended the driveshaft with a piece cut from sprue. I glued
the engine (from a stock 53 Ford pickup kit) in place, omitting the top
parts, since the hood would not be opened. The tires came from the
Flipnose,
but the wheels were taken from a die-cast.

November 2001:
I made
mounting
brackets from styrene laminates for the exhaust pipes. I took the
exhaust
pipes from the 53 Ford Flipnose kit, and applied BMF over. I painted
the
hollow tips flat black. |
|
I then superglued
intermediate exhaust pipes that I made from solder wire. |
|
I cut the tent
window from a nylon refrigerator bag. I fixed it with Testors clear
glue.
It had the exact appearance of a real tent window. |
|
The windshield
was shaved all around to fit between the pillars to make a flush fit.
The
trim was BMF treated, then the windshield fixed in place with Testors
clear
glue.
The rest are the finished
pics.
